Being a Unitarian in the North Region
We have two congregations in Newcastle and Stockton, but if you’re not located near either of them, there are many other ways to be a Unitarian in the North East. Here’s some more information.
Congregations – Newcastle
Newcastle upon Tyne Unitarians welcome all who seek the meaning of life, and who believe that human spirituality is wider than any one tradition, and deeper than any one set of opinions. With a respect for our Christian origins, we seek to explore truths from all sources. Our fellowship gives us strength and encouragement in daily living.
We meet on Sundays at 11 am in the Large Spiritual Commons Room at Northumbria Student Central in Newcastle city centre. The service may be led by a Unitarian Minister, a Minister from another denomination, or one of our Worship Leaders. We also livestream our services on Zoom if you’d like to join us online, email us to get the link or visit our website.
We join together in listening, contemplative reflection, prayer and meditation, and lively discussion in our social time together afterwards. We listen to music, readings and an address. We hope to be stimulated, moved, challenged and inspired, within our supportive community.
You are very welcome to join us. You can email us at: info@newcastleunitarians.org.uk or call: 07506 255 731.

Congregations – Stockton
Unitarians in Stockton are a community united in a spirit of mutual tolerance and respect that recognises the worth and dignity of all peoples and their freedom to believe as their conscience allows. Unitarians have been in Stockton for worship and celebrations for over three hundred years. We meet every Sunday at 6pm at Stockton Unitarian Chapel, and we also livestream our services on Zoom if you’d like to join us online, contact us to get the link.

The National Unitarian Fellowship
It seeks to meet the needs of Unitarians and others who are in sympathy with this approach and who do not attend a Unitarian Church or Fellowship. It also offers to ministers and members of Unitarian congregations and Fellowships an opportunity for wider communication with others having a concern for religious values.
The National Unitarian Fellowship exists to promote fellowship and understanding and to provide a channel of communication between people who value a free and positive approach to religion, which sets no dogmatic limits to the individual’s quest for spiritual truth.
